The learning goal of this course is to illustrate a common care pathway for healthcare professionals to follow for screening, managing and treating prediabetes, diabetes and associated CVD factors.
The learning outcomes specifically associated with this eLearning course are the ability to:
Describe the National Clinical Guideline for Diabetes and ASCVD Risk Factor Screening, the risk factors associated with diabetes and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD), as well as the systematic and opportunistic screening approach.
Outline the assessments that need to be conducted during the screening session.
Identify the aspects of managing prediabetes and associated CVD factors along with a few aspects of diabetes management, and understand how the healthcare system contributes to that.
